Key indicators

i.  articulate clearly the aims of their teaching, give sound professional reasons for adopting these aims, and implement them in their practice

 

ii.  through their planning and teaching, demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of relevant content, disciplines and curriculum documents.

 

 

 

JUSTIFICATIONS RTC 6

  • The key competencies stated in the Unit Plan (Term 2 Numeracy- 9NAL Unit Plan) inclued; Thinking, Managing Self, Participating and contributing. These competencies are linked to the New Zealand Curriculum.

 

 

 

 

  • Thouroughly planning to meet the needs of the students. There is a relation between the Unit Plan, long term planning and weekly plan. The set of templates that I have attached shows how I have taught topic on 'Rounding numbers and decimals'. There is correlation with the topic being derived from the Unit Plan. The Long Term Plan shows that it is taught in Week 8. Moreover, the weekly Plan shows details of the breakdown for the topic. This shows that I am planning in advance and then implementing my planning in the class.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Used results from diagnostic tests to prepare my unit plans and do long term planning. These tests were also used during discussions with parents.
